One of Ireland’s best kept “secrets”, the Cooley Peninsula offers the visitor so much. Totally unspoiled with wonderful views of the forests, valleys, mountains and rugged shorelines, yet just over an hour’s drive from Dublin and Belfast air and sea ports and barely 20 minutes from the main Dublin/Belfast highway. Within easy reach of historic Carlingford, Greenore and Omeath, “The Swallows” lies in the lovely Glenmore valley at the foot of the Cooley Mountains.
The valley offers the perfect contrast to the more rugged lough and sea shorelines and to the magnificent, imposing Cooley Mountains. The lush green meadows interlaced with fuchsia, ferns, heather, blackthorn and brambles and crossed by both Big and Little rivers are a relevation - home for a variety of birds, other wildlife and farm animals.

Views from ‘The Swallows” are truly magnificent, the tranquillity is guaranteed and the local ponies, “Cooley” and “Glen”, add to the warm welcome. For walkers the house offers a bonus - it lies on the well known and very beautiful Tain Trail.

All in all a setting so peaceful that the visitor can even enjoy the sound of water bubbling over the granite rocks in the nearby river.
